James Macon

Macon, as he is known to most, was raised as an only child in Carthage, Texas, a small town in Panola County. In the late 1990's he bought his first guitar and found a way of following his dream of being a singer and putting his songwriting to music.
After several years of playing at backyard parties and tailgating, he took to the stage for "Pickin on the Patio" at Leon's Steakhouse Saloon in Longview, Texas. Macon teamed up with singer/songwriter Jim Day and together became the electrifing two some of "MAYDAY". Staying on the road with gigs including east texas festivals and clubs, "MAYDAY" had a five year run with their cd, songs, including Macon's popular and most requested song, "Cold Keystone".
Macon was a memeber of the Standing Flat Band, as well as solo act as "Macon Music" an accoustic act in Waco, Texas for the college crowd and a member of a country band named "Second Hand Smoke". Today he is part of the "Texas Blackwater Band".
The Macon Music show includes a mix of country, Texas, rock, and pop and Americana music including Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Jim Croce, Van Morrison, Hank, Sr., and Bill Withers among others.
